Because it does little more than rubber stamp Democrat talking points before airing them as “news,” CNN spent years pushing the “Russian collusion” hoax. They were all in. Nearly every single one of their on-air personalities used their platform to push the conspiracy. Trump worked with Russia to undermine a US election, eventually usurping our true leader and rightful President, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Then Robert Mueller came along. His report was supposed to be the final nail in Trump’s presidency. Instead, it torpedoed the dreams of a million progressive true believers. There was no collusion.
Through it all, there were multiple investigations being conducted by the DOJ. They were looking into allegations of election year spying, fraudulent FISA applications, and a possible coup attempt that began with players in the Obama administration. The findings in the first of those inquiries will be become public on December 9, when Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report is released.

However, it appears the “journalists” at CNN have gotten something of a sneak peek. They are not happy. It seems “someone” has admitted to illegally altering documents used to secure the FISA warrant which authorized the Carter Page surveillance. In other words, the impetus for the FBI’s entire investigation was the product of criminal wrongdoing on the part of “someone” within their own office.
The WaPo confirmed CNN’s reporting in a piece that initially claimed the “someone” in question worked under uber-creepy FBI agent Peter Strzok. They changed their article in the middle of the night, removed the bit about Strzok, and issued one of their famous corrections.

We’ll have to wait and see how the Strzok connection plays out. No one should be surprised if it crops back up at a later date.
Regardless, the crew at CNN are in mourning. Check out the following clip, in which Wolf Blitzer and legal analyst Preet Bharara look like they may actually start crying on air….
Why are they so upset? Two reasons. The first is what Bharara says here:
“That’s kind of an alarming bit of news… If there was an FBI agent sworn to uphold the constitution who can be proven to have altered a document in connection with a legal proceeding, including the obtaining of a FISA warrant, that’s really serious. It doesn’t get more serious on that. I’d like to know the details of what the nature of the change was – if there’s a mistake in some way. Based on that reporting, it doesn’t sound like it was. I want to keep an open mind about it, but.. but.. that’s not a good thing. It’s a terrible thing.

Law enforcement agents and prosecutors who work with them are sworn to uphold the constitution, sure, but actually even exceed the protections of the constitution. They have to be of the utmost integrity and the utmost candor. Especially when you’re making a representation to the court, which is what a FISA application is. It’s gotta be on the up-and-up.”
CNN’s brain trust – such as it is – knows exactly how damaging this will be. They put their careers and the future of their ratings-challenged network on the line to push this story. If it was all predicated on a now-provable lie, they’re in deep trouble.
The second reason this bothers them so much is more of a personal existential thing. These supposedly unbiased people loathe Donald Trump. They hate him with every fiber of their petty little beings. They’ve done everything possible to damage him, to end his presidency, and to remove him from office… and he just keeps beating them.
In doing so, he exposes not just their blatant agenda, but their impotence as well. Their egos are tied to the idea that they’re serious, very important, newsmen who are respected and revered. Trump is proving that’s not the case.

How many times have we seen these heartbroken expressions when one of their anti-Trump smears falls apart and incinerates their credibility? Five? Ten? Twenty?
By the way, they wasted no time trying to downplay the severity of their own reporting. Reliable Democrat booster, Anderson Cooper, was first out of the gate. He presented the possibility that this was nothing major. Maybe someone just changed a date or something. No biggie.

CNN reporter corrected him and said it’s something that changed the entire meaning of the document. Anderson did not look thrilled about this news.
