Yesterday, Elizabeth Warren posted a video to Twitter. There was no Michelob Ultra, but there was the following statement:
“So, here’s my goal. My goal is to get elected, and then to be the last American president to be elected by the Electoral College. I want the second term to be that I got elected by direct vote. I’m ready. Popular vote. I just think this is how a Democracy should work. Call me old-fashioned, but I think the person who gets the most votes should win.”
As always, we have to point out that Warren apparently flunked civics 101. We’re not a direct Democracy. We’re a republic, a we were designed to be a republic for a reason. We’ll set that fact aside for the moment because, if she hasn’t learned it by now, she’s never going to get it.

There are two other things wrong with Warren’s plan. The first is that she hasn’t got a gender-neutral snow-person’s chance in hell of getting elected. Her health care plans have torpedoed her ascent, her primary campaign is in decline as Biden pulls away, and she’ll probably be headed for the exits soon. Should the Democrats ever manage to locate a candidate capable of beating Trump, it’s possible she could surface as a potential VP, but even that seems unlikely at the point.
She simply has too much baggage, and not enough charisma to overcome it.
The second thing that dooms her electoral college ‘goal’ is a little something called the U.S. Constitution. If Dems want to eliminate the EC – and they want it with every fiber of their being – they’d have to pass an amendment. That means they’d need to come up with a proposal, get a two-thirds majority vote in both the House and Senate, and then they’d need 3/4 of the states to ratify it. It’s impossible to overstate how hard it would be to accomplish that, particularly when the measure would neuter virtually every middle-American state.
Despite what you may hear in the press, states are not lining up to strip themselves of their electoral power.

In other words, it simply “ain’t gonna happen” – just like Elizabeth Warren’s presidency.
Here’s Fauxcahontas, presenting her pipe dream:
