Whelp. Here we go. Democrats have been rattling this sabre for two years, and now it’s time to put up or shut up.
Last night, ridiculous Texas Representative Al Green introduced articles of impeachment aimed at removing President Donald Trump from office. Green claims this has nothing to do with Mueller, “Russian collusion,” or any of the Dems’ other invented scandals. This impeachment attempt is related solely to Trump’s tweets targeting Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her anti-Semitic “squad.”

Today we learned he’s getting a vote. The House will take up the matter this afternoon. As Green said this morning, “It is time for us to send the president a clear message that he is not above the law.”
“The law” in questions has not been specified, and even the Politico admits the effort is more than likely doomed to failure.
The House is slated to vote Wednesday afternoon on whether to immediately consider articles of impeachment against Donald Trump, the first barometer of efforts to remove the president by the Democrat-led House.
The move, forced by a Democratic lawmaker from Texas who used a procedural mechanism that required action within two days, is unlikely to succeed. Speaker Nancy Pelosi has opposed efforts to immediately begin impeachment proceedings against Trump.
House leaders are likely to sideline Green’s measure with their own procedural vote: either moving to table his articles and delay them or to bottle them up in the Judiciary Committee.

In other words, Nancy Pelosi is still in charge – even if it doesn’t look like it. She, and the Democrat brass, know that impeachment would be a disastrous move, so they’ll bury it as fast as they can. I’d be willing to bet that, behind closed doors, they would admit that Trump is worth more to them as a foil than as an impeached, but popular, President.
Still, there is the possibility, however slim, that Pelosi & Co have lost enough of their mojo that they’ll be pressured into taking the matter seriously. No one expects that to happen, but you never know. If the matter goes any further, it will be a telltale sign that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her squad really are running the Democrat’s show.
AOC and her pals will spend the next two weeks expressing their outrage, and riling up the base, should the effort fail. They’ll grow more powerful – and likely more unhinged – in its wake. Either way, Pelosi is in a tough spot.
Pop the corn and enjoy the show.
