If anyone doubts that the swamp is a bi-partisan beast, this should cure them of their delusion.
Today, during the hearsay testimony of former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, derogatory comments made by President Trump were read into the record. Yovanovitch was asked to respond. She did.
Here are those comments, via PBS News Hour:

Do I think it was a wise move for the President to say those things? No. I do not. As I’ve argued since his initial campaign announcement back in 2015, if anything is going to get Trump in trouble, it will be his mouth.

That said, I don’t think those comments are – in any way – analogous to what went down before, during, and after the Benghazi attack. I’d have to be utterly deranged to make a comparison like that.
Then again, I don’t appear on MSNBC. If I did, I’d probably be a crazy person, and I’d probably say something like what Elise Jordan just said:

“Remember a time when everyone was really concerned about Benghazi, and did the State Department – did Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and did the Obama administration – do enough to protect Ambassador Stevens and the other diplomats serving at that hardship post? And we literally have a President of the United States targeting an Ambassador. You have the threat coming in from the desk at the State Department. Diplomatic Security. What are they, just being left out there protecting an Ambassador and left out high and dry?
It’s criminal!”
A: I don’t see that as a threat. It’s an assessment of Yovanovitch’s situation. As I said above, it was a bad idea to share it with a foreign power, but there’s no threat.
B: We’re not entirely sure what Jordan thinks is criminal. However, we do know that, whatever it was, it was something pretty bad. In fact, she thinks Trump did something that is just as bad as what happened to Christopher Stevens during the Benghazi attacks.
For the record, that’s murder. Worse, there are multiple horrific accounts of the Ambassador’s savage end. These include such atrocities as genital mutilation, rape, torture, and the desecration of his dead body. The fact of the matter is that no one really seems to know what happened, and those who might aren’t talking.
Given the various accounts, it seems ‘death by smoke inhalation’ is, at best, wishful thinking. These things may have occurred. No one has offered any conclusive evidence either way and, given the multitude of weird mysteries surrounding Benghazi, we’ll probably never know. Since we can’t be sure, it’s probably best to avoid comparisons such as the one you’ll see in the clip below.

But, hey, Trump had some less-than-flattering things to say about Yovanovitch – and that’s essentially the same thing. Unkind words, violent death. Potato, Po-tah-to.
Right, MSNBC?
Right?
